Ashtanga Yoga: Mysore self-practice style, a more energetic style. What to expect: Mysore Self Practice is the traditional way in which the practice of Ashtanga Yoga is taught. Any person, any age and any level can start and do this practice. A set sequence of yoga postures is given by the teacher and memorised by the student and each student moves through the sequence at their own pace. Individual instruction is given by the teacher as and when needed. The sequence of postures and breathing will be encouraged by the teacher to be followed in a very specific way. The sequence is taught to you individually within a group/class setting and postures are added on slowly to allow you to develop greater flexibility, strength, and concentration, while sweating helps detoxify your body. Each posture builds on the ones that follow and if the students shows confidence, ease and steadiness in each posture then the student will be gently moved on to the next posture and so on. You will be taught from the very beginning and the teacher will not move you on until she is sure that you have fully understood the postures you have been given and that you are also emotionally ready to move on. The teacher moves around the shala keeping a watchful eye, instructing, guiding, encouraging, adjusting and helping. A beginner will naturally be given more instruction than an advanced practitioner but both practice in the same class. Don't worry if you have never practiced Ashtanga Yoga before, just come along, watch and try a class, as the best way to understand this practice is to experience it. In a self practice class you are not copying a teacher at the front of a class, like in the majority of other yoga classes, so there is no need for you to 'keep up' with the teacher or the other students in the class.
Yoga Class Block Bookings~ When you sign up and pay for a block of classes, you are securing your mat space on that specific class each week (e.g every Monday 6:30-7:45pm), for the duration of the block (the length of the blocks change). The block of classes are self contained. No refunds are offered if you miss a class. You can not ‘carry over’ missed classes to the next block. If there is space in another class for you to attend as a ‘catch up’ during the same block, you are welcome to do so. If you cannot attend a class, please do let me know asap in case someone is on the waiting list. Yoga Drop-In~ Must be pre booked. For Ashtanga a payment of £17.50 is required, for Yoga For All a payment of £17.50 is required for a ‘drop in’ yoga class. This payment in non refundable. Phone/Zoom Call With Shelley ~ To cancel a telephone/Zoom call or 1-2-1 Healing Connection with Shelley the cancellation policy below will apply: When cancelling your appointment 72 hours before the selected date you will receive a full refund, minus the transaction fee such as Paypal or Stripe. If you miss your appointment or cancel it with less than 72 hours’ notice your appointment will be non-refundable. No shows for your appointment are charged 100% of the fee. No credit or refund is available if you cancel on the day; if you do not show up; or if you leave a call early for any reason. No refund will be given after the session has taken place. No refund will be available if you attend and are dissatisfied with its presentation or content. If you wish to reschedule your appointment: We understand that unplanned situations can arise, and you may need to reschedule your appointment, but due to re-organisation time of the booking calendar for the admin team, we only allow one opportunity to reschedule once per person.
